What We Believe (Statement of Faith)
Who is God?
God is the one and only true God, revealed to us in the Hebrew Scriptures and Holy Bible as 3 persons:
Father (YHWH), Son (Yeshua HaMashiach - Jesus Christ), and Holy Spirit (Ruach HaKodesh)-- All were present at the creation of the world.
God is all knowing (omniscient), all powerful (omnipotent), is everywhere at once (omnipresent), and eternal (has always existed).
Father (YHWH)
Yahweh is Almighty God, seated on His throne in heaven. He is the supreme, righteous, holy and just ruler of heaven and earth. He was never a transcended man. He exists outside of the dimension of time and is eternal– without beginning or end; He is always good and set apart from evil. He is Spirit in substance and nature. He is pure love. He is faithful and always keeps His promises. He loves His creation and desires to be intimately involved in it. He deserves honor and receives worship from His creation in
spirit, truth, purity and holiness.
Son (Yeshua HaMashiach - Jesus Christ)
Yeshua is fully man and fully God. He was God manifested physically on earth (Immanuel) when He was born of the virgin Mary; He lived as a human, was crucified on the cross at age 33, was resurrected to back to life 3 days later, and ascended back to the Father after another 40 days. His purpose on earth was to reveal and reconcile the Father to His creation, restore eternal life to humans, and destroy death, sin, and all the works of Satan. He is now seated at the right hand of the Father in heaven and will return to earth to establish His eternal kingdom. Jesus Christ is not an angel or other created being, as some might believe. He is the fulfillment of the prophecies of the coming Messiah (Christ) in the Old Testament.
Holy Spirit (Ruach HaKodesh)
Ruach HaKodesh is the fiery 7-fold Spirit of God who convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He is the one who draws people to know, believe, and understand the Father’s love and the Son’s sacrifice; He is the one who brings people to repentance and belief in this Good News of forgiveness of sin and gift of eternal life. He indwells, transforms, and baptizes every true believer with fire to purify and activate them. Only through the Holy Spirit’s cleansing and refining work can people truly worship God. The Holy Spirit imparts supernatural gifts to each believer for their service to God and each other; He is the power behind all genuine miracles, signs, and wonders manifested through God’s people today.
The Bible
The true, inspired word of God, written by men; infallible in its original writings (Hebrew OT, and Greek NT). The canon of Scripture includes the 66 books in the Old and New Testaments and have been supernaturally preserved by God throughout history. The Scriptures give us the basis for absolute truth and righteous living, but adherence to the written words can not give people eternal life. The Scriptures exist to lead us to the giver of life– the Son of God, Jesus Christ.
Mankind
God originally created man and woman in His image and His likeness to rule over the entire realm of the earth and its atmosphere. God formed the first man (Adam) from the substance of the earth and breathed life into him. That life was eternal life from God. Adam was created perfect and uncorrupted. He created the first woman from Adam’s rib and they became the first “one flesh” marriage and foundation of the family unit.
Life & Death
The disobedience of the first Adam (and Eve) when they ate from the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil brought death (spiritual and physical) to the world. Their transgression corrupted all of God’s creation and caused it to be separated from God’s glory, holiness, and righteousness. But the obedience of Jesus Christ (the 2nd Adam) when he was crucified, shed his blood, and rose from the dead reconciled the world back to God, bringing eternal life back to all who believe and repent of their sins.
Reconciliation
God desires all people to repent from ungodliness/sin and believe the Gospel– thereby being reconciled to God, and receiving spiritual rebirth, adoption as His sons/daughters, and eternal life. There is only one way to be reconciled to God and that is through faith in His Son.
Righteousness
God graciously makes us right with Him because of Jesus Christ’s sacrifice alone; this is nothing we earn, prove, or strive for—it is purely a gift believers receive through faith and repentance (turning away from old sinful ways and turning toward God).
Revelation
God actively communicates to His children through dreams, visions, and supernatural revelation in addition to the written Scriptures. Believers can know God’s thoughts and learn His ways by engaging with Holy Spirit who transforms us by renewing our minds.
Identity of Believers
Believers are joined together in union with God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) and are called His bride, His church/body, His ambassadors, His sons/daughters, His royal priests, His holy nation (spiritual Israel), and co-heirs of the Kingdom with Jesus Christ. As such, we continue Jesus Christ's mission on this earth to show people how to be reconciled to God and prepare them for true worship and service in love.
