English as a Second Language (ESL)

The ESL program provides a structured sequence of English language instruction aligned to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) A1–C2. It is structured to meet the diverse needs of adult learners. Prior to enrollment, each prospective student completes a standardized English language proficiency assessment (iTEP All Skills) to determine their current level of listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Based on the assessment results, learners are placed into the appropriate instructional level, ensuring that instruction is targeted to their demonstrated proficiency and learning needs.

ESL- Level A1

Beginner (for first time ESL learners)

Instructional Scope: Survival English, phonics, basic grammar, simple speaking/listening
Sample outcomes: Students can introduce themselves and others, ask and answer simple personal questions, understand basic instructions, read and write simple words and sentences, and participate in short, guided exchanges.

ESL- Level A2

High Beginner

Instructional Scope: Functional English, daily life, workplace basics
Sample outcomes: Students can describe their background and immediate environment, understand short conversations and simple written texts, write brief messages and notes, and handle routine social and workplace interactions using common expressions.

ESL- Level B1

Intermediate

Instructional Scope: Independent communication, reading & writing paragraphs
Sample outcomes: Students can participate in everyday conversations, write short essays and emails, understand the main ideas of news articles and workplace documents, and express opinions,
reasons, and future plans with clarity.

ESL- Level B2

High Intermediate

Instructional Scope: Academic & workplace English, fluency, complex grammar
Sample outcomes: Students can follow lectures and extended conversations, read and analyze complex texts, write structured reports and essays, and participate confidently in discussions,
supporting their views with relevant reasons and examples.

Spanish Language Courses – Beginner to Advanced
